Actor/singer's "Claymore" single promotes game-inspired live-action horror film

Actor/singer GACKT is contributing an image song to promote the Japanese run of the Silent Hill: Revelation 3D film. The artist recorded the song "Claymore" for the July 3 release of his BEST OF THE BEST vol.1 album, and the film's Japanese trailer debuted on Thursday with the song.

GACKT has contributed songs and starred in the live-action adaptation of CAPCOM's Sengoku Basara game franchise and the Dragon Age: Dawn of the Seeker computer-graphics film.

The second Hollywood adaptation of Konami's survival-horror game series follows Heather Morris (Adelaide Clemens) who has drifted from school to school with her father (Sean Bean). She suffers from frequent nightmares since childhood that become all too real when her father disappears. Pulled into the alternate reality of "Silent Hill," Heather searches for her father and the answers to her nightmares.

The 3D film also stars Kit Harington (Game of Thrones) as Heather's love interest, Vincent. Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix) plays Claudia Wolf, and Malcom McDowell (A Clockwork Orange, The Artist) were cast as Leonard Wolf. Both Radha Mitchell and Deborah Kara Unger returned to play Rose Da Silva and Dahlia Gillespie, respectively.

The film opened in the U.S. last October, and will open in Japan on July 12.
