Yasumi Matsuno: Akihiko Yoshida Working on Next Bravely Default Project

Video game designer Yasumi Matsuno (Tactics Ogre, Final Fantasy Tactics, Vagrant Story, Final Fantasy XII) reported on Wednesday that fellow designer Akihiko Yoshida (several Final Fantasy titles, Tactics Ogre) is working on the next project from the Bravely Default role-playing game franchise.
Matsuno told his Twitter followers that he was going out for a bite or drinks with Yoshida, and joked that Yoshida will not be discussing Final Fantasy XIV. Another game artist, Miho Mitsumi of Leaf (Aquaplus), then asked Matsuno about what Yoshida is working on now besides Final Fantasy XIV. Matsuno responded that Yoshida is working on the next Bravely Default project.
After Square Enix released the original Bravely Default: Flying Fairy game for the Nintendo 3DS last October, it began an open beta test for a browser game called Bravely Default: Praying Brage the following month. Square Enix also ran a survey in December to get feedback on a possible sequel. Square Enix will release the original 3DS game in Europe this year and in North America in 2014.
