Steins;Gate Senkei Kōsoku no Phenogram Gets PS Vita Port

posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Original PS3/Xbox 360 game with 10 self-continued episodes shipped in Japan in April

Thursday's issue of Enterbrain's Weekly Famitsu magazine revealed on Thursday that 5pb.'s Steins;Gate Senkei Kōsoku no Phenogram (Steins;Gate: Linear Bounded Phenogram) PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 sci-fi adventure game will get a PlayStation Vita port this winter.

The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions originally shipped in Japan on April 25.

The Steins;Gate story revolves around Rintaro Okabe, a self-proclaimed "mad scientist" who believes that an international scientific organization named SERN is conspiring to reshape the world according to its own interests. He inadvertently creates a gadget able to send messages to the past. The discovery and experimentation of this instrument become the catalyst of fundamental alterations to the present. Okabe is the only one aware of these changes because he possesses a Reading Steiner, the ability to retain the memories from previous experienced timelines. Oblivious of the consequences of their actions, Rintaro and his friends end up creating modifications of grievous proportions. He must then try to find a way to return as close as possible to the original timeline in order to save his precious lab partners.

The Steins;Gate Senkei Kōsoku no Phenogram game features 10 self-continued episodes told from the viewpoint of the other characters besides Okabe, such as his childhood friend Mayuri ("Mayushii") and lab member Kurisu Makise.

JAST USA revealed last month that it plans to release the original Steins;Gate visual novel for the PC in North America.
