Hello Kitty Museum Art Collection Adds Mona Lisa, The Milkmaid, and More

posted on by Bamboo Dong

Hello Kitty is giving her fans a taste of art appreciation, with the Hello Kitty Museum Art Collection collaboration between Sanrio and Bijutsu Shuppan-Sha.

The collection shows Hello Kitty starring in four famous paintings, with the first being Edvard Munch's The Scream. After positive initial responses, three more were added, including Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa, Édouard Manet's The Fifer, and Johnannes Vermeer's The Milkmaid.

The images are available as postcards (¥158), clear files (¥368), mini towels (¥578), plush mascot straps (¥1,260) (including one that lets you put Kitty's face on yourself), memo pads (¥420), and chocolates (¥525), with puffy stickers to come in February 2014.

For anyone who's interested, the merchandise can be purchased online here, at select museum gift jobs in Tokyo, or at the Plus Creation pop-up store on the third floor of the Ecute Department Store in Tachikawa.
