Company Donates Love Live! Sunshine!! Bikes to Host City

The Love Live! Sunshine!! series' real-life setting of Numazu received a generous gift of highly reflective bikes to help prevent cycling accidents. Of course, the bikes are feature the characters from the series that has brought the city so much tourism recently.
Sun Chemical, based in Tadehara, Shizuoka, manufacturers the reflective film and also donated the bikes on July 25. More than 80 percent of the 20-inch bikes are covered in reflective film. The company also outfitted three of the city's electric bikes for increased visibility.
The bikes were given in a presentation ceremony. Three will be available at the Sannoura General Information Office and four will be donated to each of Numazu's hotels. Tourists can rent the bikes starting on August 1 as part of the city's "Numawa" bike rental program.
The program will come a little late for tourists heading to Numazu for the 70th annual fireworks festival featuring the cast this weekend, but given the continued tie-in events with the series and its upcoming second season, there will be plenty of time to enjoy Love Live! Sunshine!! bike ride in the future.
