Japan's Ministry of Health Turns to Survey Corps During Latest Flu Outbreak

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Japan's Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare is bringing back the Survey Corps to help combat the influenza outbreak in Japan. Last year, the ministry introduced posters to teach proper coughing etiquette to help prevent the spread of illnesses.

The ministry reinstated the posters this month. The poster depicts Survey Corps members Eren, Mikasa, and Armin using proper coughing etiquette: using a tissue, elbow, or mask. Eren voice actor Yūki Kaji shared the poster on his Twitter account with the statement: "Observe cough etiquette, and let's destroy infectious diseases!"

Cancer researcher Dr. Satoru Osuka also shared the poster with further information about why individuals shouldn't cough into their hands.

The posters and leaflets can be downloaded from the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare's official website.

Over 2.1 million Japanese citizens have come down with the flu since the outbreak began in January. Numerous voice actors have come down with the illness leading to event cancellations.
