SKE48 Idol Akari Suda Gets Baki-Style Make Over

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Following the previous transformation of comedian Eiji Kotōge and soccer star and television personality Karina Maruyama, Baki artist manga artist Keisuke Itagaki drew SKE48 idol Akari Suda in his signature style.

The illustration was shown on the “Downtown DX variety program on Thursday. The art is part of Itagaki's ongoing "Entertainer Baki Project". The project includes Itagaki's renditions of the comedy duo Downtown, "Reaction Monster" Tetsurō Degawa, and now Akari Suda. The celebrities are expected to appear on the variety television show Downtown DXDX 25th Anniversary 2-Hour Special on Yomiuri TV to celebrate Downtown's 25th anniversary.

Suda is known for "boasting" about her muscles and is highly flexible, able to limbo under a 11 inch bar. She has previously competed in a not-so-serious wrestling competition hosted by DDT Pro-Wrestling.

The Downtown DXDX 25th Anniversary 2-Hour Special will be broadcast on November 15. A collaboration movie will be shown during Downtown DX on November 8 before premiering online. Fellow manga artist Jigoku no Misawa is also working on a visual for the program. These visuals will be posted in the Osaka area on November 9 and in the Tokyo area on November 12 as posters, billboards and newspaper advertisements.
