Toei Animation, Funimation to Hold Global Livestream Celebrating One Piece's 1,000th Episode on November 20

posted on by Kim Morrissy
Event will stream episodes 998-999 along with prize giveaways

Funimation and Toei Animation will held a global livestream event celebrating the One Piece anime's 1,000th episode broadcast on November 20 at 3 p.m. PST. The event will be streamed on Funimation's and Toei Animation's official YouTube channels, as well as the One Piece official Facebook page.

Influencer and self-described "professional One Piece fan" RogersBase will act as host. Episodes 998 and 999 of the anime will be streamed for free. The event will also hold prize giveaways.

The 1,000th episode of the One Piece anime will debut on November 14. Eiichiro Oda published the 1,000th chapter of the original manga in this year's combined 5th/6th issue of Weekly Shonen Jump magazine on January 4.

Toei Animation and Fathom Events will hold a special theatrical screening of the One Piece Film Strong World anime film next month to celebrate the 1,000th episode. The film will screen with the English dub on November 7, and with English subtitles on November 9, in select theaters in the United States. The screening will also include the United States premiere of the 2011 One Piece 3D: Mugiwara Chase film.

The series has also inspired the "We Are One!" short drama videos to commemorate the 100th One Piece manga volume and the 1,000th One Piece anime episode. The mini-series premiered on August 30, with new episodes streaming daily.
