News Mainstreaming Anime -- Otaku TV

Starting this winter, some television viewers may glimpse a new television show, known as "O-TV", or "Otaku Television". O-TV isn't an "anime" show, per se, but it does deal with anime.
O-TV's creator, David "Ryoga" Lutwak, describes it best, "This will be a monthly show on public access showcasing all the latest and greatest stuff from anime, to vid[eo] games, cons and anything else we deem cool."
Sounds like some sort of crazy fantasy, doesn't it? For much of the US, unfortunately, it may remain so currently. However, if you live in Montgomery County in Maryland, you will be able to experience this new show.
Currently planned to air only on Montgomery County's Public Access Channel at the rate of 1 episode per month, O-TV is starting small. Still, David remains hopeful. "We hope to get tapes to other MD county public access channels in the future", he says. Already David has said that Prince George county may see the premiere episode, too.
The first episode, which begins filming December 9th, will include such topics as ADV Films' rapidly approaching Spriggan the Movie theatrical release, Bandai's anime models, and upcoming anime conventions. In addition, E-Mail from viewers will be read at the end of each episode. O-TV is slated to run 25 minutes an episode.
Planning for the future, David Lutwak says, "... we are looking forward [to] convention time. We will be going up with cameras and interviewing cosplayers..."
Anime News Network will be closely following O-TV's development and broadcast.
