Fujitsu Creates Artificial Seiyuu
posted on by Christopher Macdonald
According to this article on Yahoo! Japan (in Japanese), Fujitsu announced on Thursday that they had developed a way of reproducing the vocal style of anime characters through a speech-synthesis technique.
Up until now, Fujitsu's speech-synthesis Middleware, "Fine Speech", used a database to categorize voices. But it's now possible for them to generate any particular character's way of speech. Its easy to add or edit the rhythm of the speech or to change the itch of the voice.
