Crayon Shin-chan Theme Park to Open in His 'Hometown'

posted on by Egan Loo
One million expected annually at free facility with games, stores

Banpresto, a Bandai Namco Holdings company, will open an amusement game center for Crayon Shin-chan (Shin-chan in English) in Kasukabe City on November 11. Located near Tokyo, Kasukabe is the "hometown" of the fictional kindergartner star in this children's comedy manga. The 710-square-meter facility in the new Lala Garden Kasukabe shopping center is designed around the motif of a movie studio, and it will include game machines, memento photo areas, and stores for original goods. With no entrance fee, 1 million attendees are expected to visit annually.

Banpresto opened an amusement area for the Kochira Katsushika-ku Kamearikouen-mae Hashutsujo police comedy manga in Tokyo's Ario Kameari shopping center March of 2006, and a children's museum for the bean paste pastry character Anpanman in the city of Yokohama, south of Tokyo, on April 20 of this year.
