May 25th, Tokyo – Today, the hit anime You and I Are Polar Opposites returns after its successful first season in January 2026! Ahead of Season 2, the second trailer has arrived.

The new trailer captures the vibrant daily lives of Suzuki and Tani, set to the upbeat opening theme "nekojarashi" by 7co. Fans can also witness the evolving romance of Yamada and Nishi, along with new personal growth for Taira and Azuma.

7co (pronounced “Nanako”) is a music project by vocalist Nanako Ashida and music producer RYUJA. Fusing pop with Hip-Hop and R&B-based tracks, their progressive sound and highly empathetic lyrics have attracted much attention. In 2025, they were selected for Spotify's “RADAR: Early Noise 2025.” Their single “0.0000%” topped China's QQ Music J-POP Weekly Chart. They have been expanding their activities overseas, kicking off with their performance in Korea. In 2026, they were selected as the only Japanese act for “Shazam Fast Forward 2026.” This summer, they are set to make their major label debut with the digital single “nekojarashi” dropping on July 5, and have also been confirmed to perform at “SUMMER SONIC 2026,” further building momentum both domestically and internationally.

When I first read the story, I seriously found myself wishing there was a way to go back to being a student again.
I'm so obsessed with Tani's cat Tempura that I'm pretty sure every demo I made had "Tempura" in the lyrics somewhere.
While recording, I pictured Suzuki in my mind and sang with a tone that was a bit different from my usual voice.
The fluttery feeling of first love, the kind of youth that quietly blends into everyday life... I tried to express all of that through a simple nekojarashi (foxtail plant) you'd find growing anywhere.
I'd be honored if this song adds a little depth to the characters' emotions.

About “You and I Are Polar Opposites"
You and I Are Polar Opposites is a huge hit manga series by Kōcha Agasawa that has sold over 2.1 million copies (including digital) and received many awards.

The series is being produced by Lapintrack (Shōshimin Series, Undead Murder Farce), with Takayoshi Nagatomo (Performing Director of Lonely Castle in the Mirror, Episode director of SHOSHIMIN: How to become Ordinary) directing, the series composition is written by Teruko Utsumi (Series Composition of Sarazanmai, Ryman's Club).

The voice cast features Sayumi Suzushiro (Kinme Wakana of Will You Clean This For Me?, Botan Kamiina of Botan Kamiina Fully Blossoms When Drunk, Serafina de Lavillant of The Barbarian's Bride) as the energetic Suzuki, and Shōgo Sakata (Aki Hayakawa of Chainsaw Man, Johnny Joestar of STEEL BALL RUN JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Zenos of The Brilliant Healer's New Life in the Shadows) as the stoic Tani.

The original manga by Kōcha Agasawa was serialized on Jump+ until 2024, and it received many awards. The English version of the manga is available online on MANGA Plus by SHUEISHA and published in print and digital by Viz Media. The series is animated by Lapintrack.
