Teaser streamed for story by Grave of the Fireflies' Nosaka about girl befriended by a wolf

The Shin-Ei Animation studio has launched a website on Wednesday for its August anime adaptation of the Kiku-chan to Ōkami (Kiku-chan and the Wolf) wartime fable, and also posted a silent trailer. Grave of the Fireflies author Akiyuki Nosaka wrote the original Toshi-Oi Mesu-Ōkami to Onna no Ko no Hanashi (The Story of the Old Mother Wolf and the Girl) tale about a girl and the wolf in the fields of World War II Manchuria who watches over her like a mother. The television special, the seventh in Shin-Ei's Sensō Dōwa (wartime fable) series, will premiere in Japan in the middle of August. Shin-Ei animated the Futatsu no Kurumi (Two Walnuts) wartime story last year.
