Valkyria Chronicles TV Anime's TAF Promo Streamed

posted on by Egan Loo
Adaptation of Sega's simulation RPG to premiere in Japan in April

The official website for the television anime adaptation of Sega's Valkyria Chronicles (Senjō no Valkyria -Gallian Chronicles-) simulation role-playing game has begun streaming the promotional video from last week's Tokyo International Anime Fair 2009. The story is set in the wartorn country of Gallia in a fictional version of 1930s Europe. The development unit that once worked on the Sakura Wars games under the name of Overworks became part of Sega and created the original Valkyria Chronicles game. The anime will premiere in Japan next month.

Aniplex's A-1 Pictures anime studio (Ookiku Furikabutte, Persona -trinity soul-, Birdy the Mighty: Decode, Kuroshitsuji, Kannagi) is producing the project under the direction of Yasutaka Yamamoto (episode director on xxxHOLiC: Kei, Big Windup!). Canada's Catherine St. Onge will sing the theme song after winning the 2nd All-Japan Anison Grand Prix singing contest that Jupiter Telecommunications and the Animax anime television channel ran last September.
