Doraemon's 30th Anniversary Film Trailer Streamed

The official website for the Doraemon anime films has launched a page for the 30th anniversary film with a two-minute trailer this weekend. (In the linked page, wait until the opening video ends, and then select the green and gold button on the righthand side.) Doraemon: Nobita no Ningyo Daikaisen (Doraemon: Nobita's Great Merman Sea Battle) will open in Japanese theaters next March; a new Doraemon film has opened in Japan nearly every year during Japan's spring vacation.
The Doraemon movie and television anime franchise is celebrating its 30th anniversary this August with a "30th Doraemon Daikanshasai" event in Tokyo on August 8 and 9. (Anime Nation notes that an earlier 1973 Doraemon television anime adaptation of Hiroshi Fujimoto and Motoo Abiko's manga predates the current television and film anime franchise by six years.)
