Cast for The Wallflower TV Drama Announced

posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins

The cast for the live-action adaptation of Tomoko Hayakawa's The Wallflower (Yamato Nadeshiko Shichihenge) manga was announced on Sunday. Kazuya Kamenashi of the pop music group KAT-TUN will play the lead male role, Kyohei Takano. Kamenashi also starred in live-action adaptations of the Kami no Shizuku, Gokusen and One-Pound Gospel manga. Hiroki Uchi (One Piece: Norowareta Seiken) and Yuya Tegoshi of the NEWS pop group (One Piece: Karakuri Shiro no Mecha Kyohei) will play two of his housemates. Aya Omasa is slated to play Sunako, the female lead.

The Wallflower revolves around four gorgeous young men who get to live in a mansion for free, but with a catch: they must turn the landlord's niece (Sunako), a socially-inept teenager, into a true lady. Del Rey will publish the 22nd volume in North America next January. The story has already been adapted into a 2006-2007 25-episode television anime series, which ADV Films released on DVD.
