Onobori Monogatari to open in Japan in July; Big Tits Zombie in July

The website for the live-action film adaptation of Satoshi Karasuya's autobiographical Onobori Monogatari manga began streaming a two-minute trailer for the film last week. The coming-of-age story in the original manga follows the trials and tribulations of a budding manga creator after he moves to Tokyo from the countryside. Karasuya based his four-panel manga on his own experiences in Tokyo. The manga ran in Takeshobo's Manga Club magazine from 2006 to 2008, and the complete series was compiled into one volume in 2008.

The film stars 30-year-old actor Yoshio Inoue, who is best known for starring in a number of musicals in Japan, such as Mozart!, Marie Antoinette, and Miss Saigon. Onobori Monogatari will be his third film role and his first film lead role. Mika Hijii (Kamen Rider Blade, Happy Flight), Show Aikawa (Kurosagi, The Quiz Show 2), and Norito Yashima (Rurouni Kenshin, Boys Over Flowers) also star in the film. Yasutaka Mōri is directing the film, which will open in Japan on July 17.

The Twitch film website began streaming a trailer for the live-action movie adaptation of Rei Mikamoto's Kyonyū Dragon (The Big Tits Dragon) zombie action manga on Sunday. (Viewers must verify their age before watching.) The main character of the Kyonyū Dragon: Onsen Zombies vs. Strippers 5 movie (renamed Big Tits Zombies in English) is Rena (Sola Aoi), a stripper who has returned to Japan from Mexico. The story follows a battle between five strippers and a zombie army at a countryside strip club. Takao Nakano wrote and directed the film, which will open in Japan on May 15.
