posted on by Egan Loo
31-year-old actor Yūsuke Kamiji (Crows Zero, Kamen Rider G) will star in a live-action television series adaptation of Yū Takada and Hideki Gō's Tōbō Bengoshi Narita Makoto (The Fujitive Lawyer, Makoto Narita) manga, starting this July on Japan's Fuji TV network. The live-action version, tentatively titled as Tōbō Bengoshi (The Fujitive Lawyer), will be Kamiji's first lead role in a television drama series.
The human suspense story follows a lawyer named Makoto Narita who is wanted for crimes he did not commit. Narita now helps people in trouble, even as he searches for the person who committed the crimes for which he was framed.
"Hideki Gō" is the penname of a writer who also penned the Kurosagi suspense manga under another penname, Takeshi Natsuhara. The original manga ran in Shogakukan's Weekly Young Sunday magazine from April of 2007 to July of 2008, and six compiled book volumes have been published.
