Usavich Season 4, Fujilog TV CG Anime Debut in Spring
posted on by Egan Loo
MTV Japan confirmed on Friday that Season 4 of the computer-animated television series Usavich will premiere in March of 2011. An episode of the fourth season is having an early preview during Friday's Usavich Ikki ni Misemasu Special. The comedy follows two rabbits who escaped from a Russian prison.
The same Kanaban Graphics studio that animated these shorts also animated the Petit Eva - Evangelion@School shorts, sequences in both Katsuhide Motoki's live-action Gegege no Kitarō 2 and Katuhito Ishii's Funky Forest films, and Shunichiro Miki's Hal & Bons videos. The third season premiered in 2008.
In a separate development, a series of computer-graphics anime shorts titled Fujilog will premiere on TV Saitama (Teletama) and other Japanese television stations next April. The story follows the hapless life of Osamu Fujiyama, 33 years old and NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training). Shigeo Shichiji conceived of the project as a series of fictional blog videos, and he based the setting on his own surroundings in Saitama, a prefecture directly northwest of Tokyo. A DVD of the earlier videos will ship in February.
Comedian Teruyuki Tsuchida and professional wrestler-turned-entertainer Akira Hokuto are voicing guest roles in Fujilog. Not only was Tsuchida born in Saitama City's Ōwada neighborhood — the setting of the anime — but he is also an ambassador of tourism for Saitama Prefecture.
