Rozen Maiden/Shugo Chara! creators pen urban legend of figure who drives nails into victims' eyes

The October issue of Kodansha's Nakayoshi magazine announced on Saturday that the manga duo Peach-Pit is turning their two-part horror manga Kugiko-san into a regular series. The regular series version of the manga will launch in the January issue in December.

The story revolves around the fear of Kugiko-san, an urban legend spread around children. According to rumors, people who encountered Kugiko-san have had nails (kugi) driven into their eyes. A solitary male shōjo manga creator named "P" follows the truth behind the urban legend.

The two-part version of the story ran in Nakayoshi in August and this month, and the magazine's website posted the first installment online. Peach-Pit's Shugo Chara! Encore! manga ended in the same magazine last year. Peach-Pit's other manga include Rozen Maiden, DearS, and Zombie-Loan.
