Brighton Japan Festival Returns in June

posted on by Andrew Osmond
Event will run from June 23 to July 1.

The Brighton Japan Festival website now has some details of the 2012 event, which will run for eight days from Saturday June 23 to Sunday July 1. It will include an Asashi Anime Festival on the final weekend (June 30 and July 1), with cosplay contests, manga drawing and karaoke competitions.

Before that, there will be a "Moshi Matsuri" launching the festival on June 23 and 24, including Japanese music and performances, street processions and stalls selling Japanese food and goods.

There will also be a season of old and new Japanese films at the Duke of York's Picturehouse Cinema, although the site does not specify if it will include anime.

The festival is supported by the Brighton and Hove Japanese club. Performers, sponsors, stallholders, volunteers or venues who would like to be involved can apply here.
