Ah My Buddha Creator Toshinori Sogabe Starts New Manga

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
Comedy about shrine maiden, Dragon God descendent on water polo team by Amaenaide yo!! creator

Toshinori Sogabe launched his Mizutama Rindō (Water Drop Rindō) manga series in the June issue of Media Factory's Monthly Comic Alive magazine on April 27. The comedy series focuses on a high school water polo team. One of the team members, Torii, is actually a shrine maiden (miko) for Sango, a descendent of the Dragon God. Sango ends up going to Torii's school and joining the water polo team.

Sogabe's earlier Amaenaideyo!! series was adapted into an anime in 2005. The original series and its sequel Amaenaide yo!! Katsu!! were released by Media Blasters in 2009 under the title Ah My Buddha.

The same June issue of Monthly Comic Alive features 10mo's crossover manga between Haganai (Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai) and Student Council's Discretion (Seitokai no Ichizon - Hekiyoh Gakuen Seitokai Gijiroku). The issue also bundles a poster commemorating the end of Familiar of Zero F and a variant cover for Haganai. (Haganai novel illustrator Buriki drew the art on the issue's cover.)
