Godzilla Remake Begins Shooting With Actor Ken Watanabe

Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. confirmed on Monday that actor Ken Watanabe (The Last Samurai, Letters to Iwo Jima, Memoirs of a Geisha) is joining the cast of Gareth Edward's Godzilla remake. The principal photography for the film began in Vancouver, British Columbia on Monday.
The studios also confirmed the previously revealed cast members David Strathairn (Lincoln, The Bourne Ultimatum, Good Night, and Good Luck.), Juliette Binoche (The English Patient, Chocolat, Cosmopolis), actress Elizabeth Olsen (Martha Marcy May Marlene, Oldboy), lead actor Aaron-Taylor Johnson (Kick-Ass) and Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad, Argo).
Johnson's character is described as a member of the military. Olson will play his girlfriend, Cranston his step-father, and Strathairn another military member.
The film is slated to open on May 16, 2014.
