Atlus will release the Nintendo 3DS port of its tactical role-playing game Devil Survivor 2 on July 11. Devil Survivor 2: Break Record updates the original release with a fully voiced cast, a new character, and a whole new scenario.
Famitsu.com reports that the game's added scenario is long enough to be its own RPG. It takes place after the fight against the Septentrion. Those familiar with the original game do not have to repeat the game up to that point to enjoy the new story; players can start immediately with the new scenario. The new, yet unnamed character, is featured in the added scenario.
In the original story, 13 Devil Messengers face the end of the world by mysterious invaders in seven days.
Atlus released the original Devil Survivor 2 video game in Japan in July 2011, and then Atlus USA released the game in North America in February 2012. Devil Survivor 2 The Animation, an anime by the studio Bridge and director Seiji Kishi (Persona 4 The Animation), is now airing in Japan. Crunchyroll is streaming the series outside of Japan as it airs, and Sentai Filmworks licensed it for North America.
