Sasami-san@Ganbaranai Manga Adaptation Ends Next Month

posted on by Sarah Nelkin
Akira Nishikawa began adaptation of Akira's novels last September

The October issue of Shogakukan's Shōnen Sunday S magazine announced at the end of the latest chapter of Akira Nishikawa's manga adaptation of Akira's Sasami-san@Ganbaranai novels that the next issue will publish the final chapter of the manga. The November issue is scheduled to ship in Japan on September 24.

Sasami-san@Ganbaranai follows a hikikomori (shut-in) named Sasami Tsukuyomi who is unmotivated about even changing clothes or eating. Her brother Kamiomi takes care of her, even though she despises his slave-like nature. Sasami spends her days viewing the outside world via a "Brother Surveillance Tool" on her computer. In the outside world, the three beautiful Yagami sisters and Sasami's brother are in the middle of relationships worthy of a romantic comedy.

Nishikawa began his adaptation of Akira's novels last September in Weekly Shonen Sunday, and the manga later moved to the magazine's monthly Shōnen Sunday S. An anime adaptation of Sasami-san@Ganbaranai aired in January. Shogakukan shipped both the 11th volume of Akira's light novel series and the 3rd compiled volume of the manga in June.
