Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax Game Pits SAO, Shana Casts Against Each Other

Publisher ASCII Media Works and game developer Sega announced Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax, their crossover 2D fighting game, during a Saturday stage event at the "Game no Dengeki" booth at Tokyo Game Show 2013. The game is the fourth collaboration between ASCII Media Works' Dengeki Bunko imprint and Sega, and it marks Dengeki Bunko's 20th anniversary.

The title is a side-scrolling action game featuring such characters as Asuna from Reki Kawahara's Sword Art Online light novel series and Shana from Yashichiro Takahashi's Shakugan no Shana light novel series.

No platform for the game was announced at the event, but the staff assured fans that there would be more playable characters than just Asuna and Shana. In the screenshots for the game, icons for Shakugan no Shana's Wilhelmina and Sword Art Online's Leafa appear.

Further information about the game will be revealed at the “Dengeki Bunko Autumn Festival 2013” event at the Akihabara UDX & Belle Salle in Tokyo on October 6. The event will have demo stations where players can test the game with Asuna, Shana, and other characters.
