Yamai twins can manipulate wind in 2nd season of anime streamed by Funimation

The official Twitter account for the Date A Live anime adaptation announced that voice actresses Maaya Uchida and Sarah Emi Bridcutt will join the second season's cast. Uchida and Bridcut will star as twins Kaguya Yamai and Yuzuru Yamai, respectively. Their characters have the power to manipulate the wind. A brief shot of the characters was shown in a teaser for the second season:

Uchida previously voiced Gatchaman Crowds' lead Hajime Ichinose, Vividred Operation's Rei Kuroki and Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions!' Rikka Takanashi. She is currently voicing minori Koganuma in Outbreak Company.

Bridcutt previously voiced Asuka Kudō in Problem children are coming from another world, aren't they? and Hydra Belle in Blood Lad earlier this year.

The final episode from the first season of the Date A Live television anime series aired in June with an announcement that production on a second season has been green-lit. The original light novel series' author Koushi Tachibana also made the announcement.

The story centers on an ordinary high school boy named Shidō Itsuka who meets a spirit girl who has been rejected by a devastated world. The girl, who Shidō names "Tohka," happens to have wiped out much of humanity 30 years ago, and now she is back. The only way to stop her is to date her.

Funimation streamed the first season in North America as it aired in Japan.
