3rd charity short features stop-motion animation by studio dwarf

Domo-kun creator Tsuneo Goda and Zapuni LLC, a collaborative project between Japanese animators and internationally renowned musicians, unveiled the third charity animation short on Monday to raise funds for the children affected by the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami disaster.

The "By Your Side" animated music video features music by British singer-songwriter Sade and stop-motion animation by dwarf (Domo-kun, Komaneko).

Those interested can donate to the children of Soma, Fukushima through Zapuni's website. Those in the United States can also donate by texting "give 14117" to 80088. Donations will be used to provide the children with instruments and a musical education.

Zapuni LLC worked in 2012 with director Yutaka Yamamoto (Kannagi, Fractale) to create the charity animation short "blossom" with Yamamoto's Ordet studio. Zapuni released the short in 2013 alongside the second short, "Psychadelic Afternoon." Uruma Delvi (Bottom Biting Bug) animated the second short, and Ryuichi Sakamoto (Royal Space Force - The Wings of Honnêamise, Appleseed, The Last Emperor) and David Byrne (Talking Heads, The Last Emperor) provided the music.
