Vocaloid Producers SatapanP, picco and Yasei Yoshida Set to Light Up AFA Thailand 2026

Tokyo, Japan – Japanese Vocaloid producers SatapanP, picco and Yasei Yoshida will appear as special guests at Anime Festival Asia (AFA) Bangkok, taking place on May 30 and 31 in Bangkok, Thailand. The three artists are set to deliver electrifying DJ performances, as part of “niconico LIVE Stage,” a special music stage presented by Dwango within the festival, bringing their distinctive take on music centered around the singing-synthesizer software  to one of Southeast Asia's leading pop culture events.

The “niconico LIVE Stage”organized in collaboration with Sozo Pte. Ltd., the organizer of AFA, is integrated into the international creator initiative “Asia Creators Cross.” The program aims to support cultural exchange and create new opportunities for Japanese creators to engage with audiences across Asia through live performances and fan interaction.

Representing a new generation of Vocaloid producers, the trio have each gained recognition for their innovative use of virtual vocalists and unique musical identities. Their participation marks a valuable opportunity to connect with international audiences and further expand the global reach of the Vocaloid scene.

AFA Bangkok is widely recognized as a hub for fans of anime, music and digital culture, offering a key platform for Japanese artists to engage with audiences in Southeast Asia.

Each artist brings a distinct approach to Vocaloid production, blending electronic music with digital vocals to create immersive and emotionally resonant works. SatapanP fuses multiple genres together into dynamic and unpredictable compositions teetering on chaos as showcased in the recent release of his latest self cover track “YABAINA” out on April 17. picco, who describes her style as “Hyper Kawaii Music,” creates bright, catchy melodies paired with uplifting electronic sounds. Yasei Yoshida, also called “Yoruyo,” delivers high-energy performances that bridge the worlds of Vocaloid and club music.

In addition to their appearances on the niconico LIVE Stage, picco will also perform a DJ set on AFA Thailand's “NEXT Stage” on May 30, while SatapanP will appear on the same stage on May 31.

The “niconico LIVE Stage” will also feature “Cho-BON Dance Japan powered by Dwango,” an interactive entertainment project inspired by the popular “Cho Niconico Bon Odori” program from Niconico Chokaigi, one of Japan's largest fan conventions celebrating internet culture, anime, games and creator communities. Supervised by Japanese traditional dancer and choreographer Ukon Takafuji, the project invites attendees to dance together around the stage to anime songs and Vocaloid music in a festival-style experience.

Through their performances, picco, SatapanP and Yasei Yoshida will showcase the diversity and creativity of today's Vocaloid scene as they ignite the stage in Bangkok. Their participation reflects the growing global interest in Vocaloid culture and highlights the increasing presence of Japanese digital creators on international stages.
