Rurouni Kenshin Spinoff Manga About Shishio to Launch

The June issue of Shueisha's Jump Square magazine is reporting on Friday that Nobuhiro Watsuki will launch a new Rurouni Kenshin spinoff manga about the villain character Shishio Makoto.

The tagline on the announcement reads: "The flag-raising of the evil that evil fell in love with is finally being revealed." The all-new work about the "record of evil" will be penned by Watsuki to accompany the two live-action films that are slated to open on August 1 and September 13 in Japan. Shueisha will reveal more information about the new spinoff manga in Jump Square's July issue.

The June issue of Jump Square also revealed that Watsuki is putting his Embalming manga on hiatus. Watsuki plans to resume the series with the start of the final arc this fall.
