Collection of 4 short manga from the '50s to ship on September 23

British small press publisher Breakdown Press announced on Tuesday that it will release Masahiko Matsumoto's The Man Next Door in conjunction with the opening of the London Cartoon Museum's Gekiga exhibition on September 23. The book will then go on sale in Breakdown Press' online store.

The Man Next Door is a collection of four of Matsumoto's stories from the '50s. It is the second translation in a line of alternative gekiga movement manga by Breakdown Press in association with academic Ryan Holmberg. Breakdown released Seiichi Hayashi's Flowering Harbour on July 1.

North American publisher Top Shelf released Cigarette Girl, Matsumoto's 2009 collection of short stories, in 2011.
