Oreimo 2nd Season, Nyan Koi, Sasami-san@Ganbaranai Released Monday

posted on by Andrew Osmond
Three new releases from MVM

On Monday February 15, MVM will release the second season of Oreimo (My Little Sister Can't Be This Cute), adapted from Tsukasa Fushimi's Ore no Imōto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai. (Oreimo) comedy light novel series. The story follows the daily life of an ordinary high school boy named Kyōsuke Kōsaka. Kyōsuke's younger sister Kirino is a pretty fashion model — but also a secret otaku of adult games. Kyōsuke is the only person to whom Kirino reveals her hidden obsession and other issues.

MVM will also release Nyan Koi! on both Blu-ray and DVD. The anime adaptation of Sato Fujiwara's comedy manga centres on Junpei Kōsaka, a second-year high school student who despises cats and has an allergy to them. It just so happens that his high school crush is Kaede Mizuno, a girl who adores cats. One day, while walking home from school, Junpei kicks an empty can and unfortunately beans the local neko-jizō-sama (guardian deity of cats) statue. He finds that he can now understand what cats are saying, including his family's own ill-tempered cat, Nyamsus. However, if he does not grant 100 wishes from cats, he will turn into a cat himself.

The final MVM release this week is Sasami-san@Ganbaranai, on both Blu-ray and DVD. The story follows a hikikomori (shut-in) named Sasami Tsukuyomi (voiced by Kana Asumi) who is unmotivated about even changing clothes or eating. Her brother Kamiomi (Houchu Ohtsuka) takes care of her, even though she despises his slave-like nature. Sasami spends her days viewing the outside world via a "Brother Surveillance Tool" on her computer. In the outside world, the three beautiful Yagami sisters (played by Chiwa Saito, Kana Hanazawa, and Ai Nonaka) and Sasami's brother are in the middle of relationships worthy of a romantic comedy.

Akiyuki Shinbo teamed up with his Madoka Magica and Bakemonogatari studio SHAFT to make the television anime.
