Bandai Namco Entertainment America began streaming an English trailer for its Gundam Versus PlayStation 4 game on Thursday. The video previews the game's various game modes.

The game shipped in Japan on Thursday. Bandai Namco Entertainment America will release the game in the Americas on September 29. The game will also have an English-subtitled release with Japanese audio in Southeast Asia on September 29.

The game features more than 90 Mobile Suits.

The game is available in Japan in a regular edition and a Premium G Sound Edition. The Premium G Sound Edition features a total of 35 songs including anime songs and background music from the original works, in addition to original game songs. The special edition also includes a product code to play on release day Mobile Suits that are planned to debut later for other players.

People who pre-ordered the game received a product code for the Gundam games' 30th anniversary mobile suit Hot Scramble Gundam (pictured below), which is piloted by Meijin Kawaguchi III. People who order the download version of the game receive a special Gundam Versus theme.

Tieria Erde and the GN-005 Gundam Virtue will be available as paid DLC in Japan in late July. Those who pre-ordered the game will get a product code for the DLC for free once the DLC launches.

Unlike other games in the series, Gundam Versus is not adapted from an arcade game, but was developed with the PlayStation 4 console in mind. The game contains the series' familiar two-on-two battles, but has other game modes. The game features Boost Action (including boost dash, boost step, and new boost dive), Striker Select, and Awakening battle systems. For the first time in the series the game has a six-person online multiplayer feature.
