Nintendo announced during its Nintendo Direct Mini presentation on Thursday that SNK will release a fighting game titled SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy for Nintendo Switch this summer in Japan. NIS America announced that it is partnering with SNK to release the game overseas this summer on both Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4.
The Japanese Nintendo Direct Mini presentation (below) featured some different footage from the English presentation (above), and in particular highlights the characters' bikini outfits. NIS America released screenshots with these outfits in its press release for the localized version.
The two-on-two tag-team fighting game will feature characters from the SNK universe, including Athena Asamiya, Kula Diamond, Leona Heidern, Mai Shiranui, and Yuri Sakazaki. The game will also include special Dream Finish techniques and character customization with up to 100 accessories.
NIS America will release the game physically and digitally on both consoles, but the PS4 retail version will only be available as a limited edition on the official SNK Online Store. The PS4 version has not been announced for release in Japan.
The limited Diamond Dream Edition for both Nintendo Switch and PS4 will also launch in 2018. The game's limited edition retails for US$119.99 and includes the game, a deluxe hardcover artbook, two-disc original soundtrack, lapel pin set, large sleeveless shirt, "fatal cutie" cap, 12" x 42" workout towel, a wrist sweatband, and the deluxe collector's box.
