Oshiego ni Kyōhaku Sareru no ga Hanzai Desu ka? Light Novels Get Animated Video

Light novel series by HENNEKO author launched in March

Kadokawa began streaming a "special anime promotional video" for Sou Sagara's Oshiego ni Kyōhaku Sareru no ga Hanzai Desu ka? (Is it a Crime if You're Threatened by Your Student?) light novel series on Monday. Yoshitsugu Matsuoka voices Tenjin in the video, while Rina Hidaka voices Seika.

The series' story centers on Tenjin, a 27-year-old teacher who works at a cram school for students taking entrance exams for high school and middle school. While he is talented at teaching elementary school students, he holds no love for children. He coldly contents himself with grinding through his job while training his colleague JD and being tossed about by the cruel currents of life. But one day, while teaching a fifth-grade class, one of his students hugs him close and tells him that she loves him. And a 14-year old middle-school student named Seika sees the entire thing. Seika blackmails him into giving her "personal lessons" at night.

Sagara released the first novel of the series under Kadokawa's MF Bunko label on March 24, and will release the second volume on Wednesday. Momoko illustrates the novels.

Makiko Kawasemi launched a manga adaptation of the novels in Kadokawa's Monthly Comic Alive magazine on June 27.

Sagara and Kantoku's The "Hentai" Prince and the Stony Cat. light novel series launched in 2010 and ended with the 12th volume on March 24. The novel series inspired a manga adaptation by Okomeken that ran in Monthly Comic Alive from 2011 until February 27. The eighth and final volume shipped on March 23. Digital Manga Publishing released the first three volumes in English.

The series also inspired 2013 television anime adaptation. Sentai Filmworks licensed the anime and streamed it on Crunchyroll as it aired in Japan. Sentai Filmworks released the anime on Blu-ray Disc and DVD in 2014.
