New Date A Live Anime Adapts Date A Bullet Spinoff Novels

The official Twitter account for the Date A Live franchise announced on Monday that the new Date A Live anime is an adaptation of Yūichirō Higashide's Date A Live Fragment: Date A Bullet spinoff novels. The story centers around Kurumi Tokisaki, with voice actress Asami Sanada reprising this role. Sanada will join a special stage event for the Date A Live franchise at the "Fantasia Bunko Daikansha-sai 2019" festival on October 20.
Kadokawa published the first Date A Live Fragment: Date A Bullet novel volume on March 18, 2017, and Kadokawa shipped the fifth volume on March 20, 2019.
Date A Live III, the third television anime season based on Koushi Tachibana's original Date A Live novel series, premiered in January and ran for 12 episodes. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired, and Funimation offered a simuldub.

Shido is just an ordinary school boy, but, he's been recruited to help seal Spirits—the mystical creatures responsible for the spacequakes that threaten mankind. There's just one catch: the only way to seal a Spirit is to make her fall in love with him. Now that he's saved the world once or twice, more trouble is headed his way, and there's only so much one boy can handle.
Keitaro Motonaga returned to direct the third season at J.C. Staff (AIC PLUS+ and Production IMS produced the previous two series respectively). Hideki Shirane returned to handle the series composition, and Koji Watanabe (key animator for first two seasons) designed the characters. Four-member musical unit sweet ARMS performed the opening theme song "I Swear," and Eri Yamazaki performed the ending theme song "Last Promise."
Tachibana launched the light novel series in March 2011 with illustrations by Tsunako. Fujimi Shobo's Fantasia Bunko imprint published the 20th volume on March 20, and the 21st volume will ship on October 19.
The first season of the Date A Live television anime adaptation aired 12 episodes and premiered in 2013. The second season aired 10 episodes and premiered in 2014. Funimation streamed the first and second seasons as they aired in Japan. The company also released the first season on Blu-ray Disc and DVD in June 2014 with an English dub, and released the second season on Blu-ray Disc and DVD in March 2016.
