Shojo Manga Exhibition Report Correction (Updated)

Correction: Announcement that Shojo Manga Exhibition would take place in London was incorrect.

An earlier version of this story wrongly said that a Shojo Manga exhibition would be held in London. The source for this report was a press release, but unfortunately it has now emerged that this information was incorrect, and the exhibition will take place in Tokyo but not in London. Many apologies for the disappointment.

The exhibition "Shojo Manga Infinity: Moto Hagio, Ryōko Yamagishi, and Waki Yamato," about those three major creators of shojo manga will run at the National Art Centre Tokyo from October 28 to February 8 2027 . From the NACT website's description:

"Hagio, Yamagishi, and Yamato all debuted as manga artists in the late 1960s and went on to be central figures in the 1970s “golden age of shojo manga,” when the genre greatly expanded its creative possibilities. They have continued to publish actively up to the present day, making them witnesses to a history era of artistic diversity and innovation.

"This exhibition retraces their creative paths through original drawings from their best-known works and valuable archival materials, while also exploring their respective careers and sources of inspiration."
