Anime Limited Announces Multiple Forthcoming U.K. Cinema Releases in 2026

Films include Lupin the IIIrd: The Immortal Bloodline, All You Need Is Kill, ChaO, The Last Blossom, Angel's Egg, reissues of Akira and Grave of the Fireflies, plus the forthcoming live-action monster film Godzilla Minus Zero

Anime Limited has announced on its "AllTheAnime" website that it will release the following films to UK cinemas during 2026.

Two of the films have release dates listed on the FDA (Film Distributors Association) website, noted below, but these dates have not been confirmed by Anime Limited and may be incorrect.

All You Need is Kill visual

Takeshi Koike's hard-boiled action film Lupin the IIIrd: The Immortal Bloodline, pictured right. The FDA website claims this will be released on February 7.

The science-fiction timeloop film All You Need Is Kill (pictured left), directed by Kenichiro Akimoto and based upon the Japanese novel by Hiroshi Sakurazaki which previously inspired the live-action Hollywood film Edge of Tomorrow with Tom Cruise. The FDA website claims this will be released on February 27.

ChaO, Yasuhiro Aoki's offbeat fantasy about a man who must marry a fish princess in Shanghai, pictured right.

The Last Blossom, Baku Kinoshita's drama about a gangster, a talking plant and the family he loves, pictured left. The film has already been scheduled as part of the upcoming Japan Foundation Touring Film Programme that will run at multiple cinemas around Britain during February and March, though the Anime Limited announcement does not indicate if the film will be screened beyond that.

A release for Mamoru Oshii's enigmatic 1985 fantasy Angel's Egg, with artwork by Yoshitaka Amano, pictured right. This is a 4K remaster, based on a scan of the 35mm film negative and overseen by the director.

A reissue of Katsuhiro Ōtomo's 1988 action classic Akira.

A reissue of Isao Takahatata's harrowing 1988 wartime film, Grave of the Fireflies by Studio Ghibli.

A release of Takashi Yamazaki's forthcoming live-action monster film Godzilla Minus Zero, the sequel to Yamazaki's hit film Godzilla Minus One.
