Whole Hog Theatre's Princess Mononoke – Further Performances Need A Kickstart!

Back in July, Whole Hog Theatre announced that they were presenting the world's first theatrical adaptation of Hayao Miyazaki's Princess Mononoke, with the kind co-operation of Studio Ghibli.

The Studio Ghibli classic and epic ecological fable, written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki, will be faithfully re-told for the stage in Whole Hog Theatre's adaptation using giant puppets, physical storytelling and original live music. Following the announcement of six performances at the New Diorama Theatre in April 2013, all tickets were sold out within 72 hours of going on sale.

Whole Hog Theatre are incredibly honoured to have been given the opportunity to stage such a loved film. They were delighted at the response to the announcement of the first run at the New Diorama Theatre, London, but know that many people didn't manage to get tickets and were bitterly disappointed. They would like to put this right - but they can't do it alone.

Whole Hog Theatre are working hard to raise the money necessary to make hopes of further performances of Princess Mononoke a reality. They are a small company, and at the moment the one week run that they already have in London is all they can afford to provide.

As part of their funding campaign to bring Princess Mononoke to a wider audience, they have set up a Kickstarter page inviting people to donate to the cause. The page includes a video explaining more about who they are and what they do, their plans for the show, and details of some great rewards they're offering in return for donations. These include show memorabilia and exclusive tickets to the sold out run.

In their own words, 'a little from many can go so, so far'. If you would like to see Princess Mononoke brought to life on stage, donate what you can. Even a small amount could help to make it happen. Let's get Whole Hog Theatre kickstarted!
