The “Overwhelmingly Positive (96%)” roguelite raising game DRAPLINE
Finally introduces new story content with the release of a major update
Released in Early Access on Steam this June, DRAPLINE quickly became a breakout title, selling over 40,000 copies within just three months and surpassing 100,000 wishlists. As of December 18, 2025, the game has received 1,193 reviews, achieving an Overwhelmingly Positive (96%) user rating.
DRAPLINE is a roguelite game in which players discover a constantly hungry dragon girl who eats absolutely anything and spend one year raising her to become the strongest possible being. In preparation for the approaching “Calamity,” players focus on strengthening her abilities. With runs lasting around one hour and a strategic depth that encourages repeated play, the game has been widely praised. Among Early Access players, discussions and theories about the hidden mysteries of the gameʼs world have also become a hot topic.
This major update introduces brand-new story content that finally delves deeper into those mysteries. In addition to “Fragments of Time,” story content that explores the past episodes of various in-game characters, the update also adds higher-difficulty looped gameplay with “DAYS OF TORNADO” Lv.3–9. The appeal of repeated play has been significantly strengthened across both story and difficulty.
During the Early Access period, DRAPLINE is priced at 1,200 JPY. From December 19 to January 6, the game will also be available during the Steam Winter Sale at 20% off for 960 JPY.
Uncover a Characterʼs Past Through Repeated Runs!
New Story Episodes Added
Next, we would like to introduce the new content added in this major update for DRAPLINE.
This update introduces a brand-new story feature titled “Fragments of Time.” Previously, players could only experience the main scenario “DAYS OF TORNADO” and its upgraded versions. Going forward, however, short story episodes focusing on the pasts of specific characters will be unlocked through repeated runs. Enjoy the in-game narrative from a perspective beyond simply raising the dragon girl.
▼What are the stories of the past that await players who continue their runs?
In “Fragments of Time,” newly added in this update, players can unlock short episodes by meeting certain conditions, revealing the pasts of the boss characters who stand in the way of the player and the dragon girl. These stories shed light on how̶ and why̶ they came to confront her.
Further expansions to the story are planned for the future. Development of multiple ending branches has already begun in preparation for full implementation in the official release.
Enjoy an Even More Challenging Dragon Girl Raising Experience!
High-Difficulty Loop Play Mode Implemented
Previously, the high-difficulty mode was limited to “DAYS OF TORNADO Lv.2,” which became available after clearing the main scenario. With this update, the system has been overhauled, introducing “DAYS OF TORNADO” Lv.3–9, where difficulty increases progressively with each run through a combination of new elements.
・Increased enemy stats
・Enhanced enemy skill usage
・Higher shop prices
Alongside these changes, the update also adds new bosses and events, as well as several quality-of-life improvements that make repeated runs more comfortable. The pacing and retry experience during loop play have been further refined, allowing players to enjoy raising the dragon girl at a faster, more engaging tempo. By assembling battle skills with expanded strategic options, players can continue earning loop bonuses even after failing mid-run, and challenge themselves against ever-higher levels of difficulty.
<Ver.0.7.0 Update Features>
・New bosses added
・New events added
・New loop bonuses added
・Over 20 new skills added
・Over 20 new items added
・Skip function for previously viewed events added
・New atmosphere variations for the dragon girl added
・New Steam achievements added
Below is a comment from game developer Kanawo:
Kanawo:
As we continued updating the game, DRAPLINE has now reached Ver.0.7.0, and before I knew it, about half a year had already passed since the start of Early Access. Development has been challenging at times, but also incredibly enjoyable, and it honestly felt like the time flew by in an instant.
Being able to work under such circumstances is thanks to the overwhelming number of players who have shared their feedback and impressions̶and who, at times, have played the game so deeply that it even surpasses the creatorʼs own expectations.
That said, I know many of you are curious about where the story will ultimately lead. I hope youʼll continue to look forward to our regular updates, enjoy the game through repeated runs, and wait with us for the conclusion of DRAPLINEʼs story, which will be implemented alongside the full release!
