Fluffy-Eared Realm Restoration: Taking It Slow with My Cool Big Brother
What's It About?

The crown princess Lune Renard has been captured by the revolutionary army, condemned to death as the vixen who threw the nation into chaos by hiding her past as a lowly orphan. However, Lune never wanted to be the crown princess, and her marquis adoptive father practically sold her to the crown prince. But as she and her family are executed, the Great Fox Spirit Reineke hears Lune's prayers and sends her back in time to avert this terrible fate. What's more, she now has fox ears that can hear the voices of spirits!
Lune is determined to save her people, but she must first win over House Renard, the family that adopted her but always treated her coldly—especially her brother Liam. She was sure that Liam hated her, but now he's always doting on her! With Liam and the spirits by her side, Lune will find a happy ending for everyone!

Rating:

Adopted by Marquis Renard….okay, that is clever… Commoner Lune was forced to become a princess. When the country began to fall apart, Lune was punished for crimes and was beheaded. Now, given a chance to redo her life by the fox god Reineke, Lune will seek to keep everything from falling apart.
This story is a veritable kitchen sink of “rebirth” fantasies. Lune's adoptive mother is dealing with grief and chronic illness, but taking yoga lessons from a fox spirit who inhabits Lune's body starts her healing. Mana is, of course, a yogic concept, so that helps her adoptive brother gain control of his powers. Lo! And behold! The story is well on its way to fixing all the fixable things!
This story is very cute, full of admiration, acceptance, and desire to touch cute, fluffy ears. It is very clearly designed to fill the emotional holes left by society's ills, unhappy home lives, and suchlike real-world problems. And, for the most part, it does this. It is a tad cloying when it comes to Lune and her adopted brother Liam's relationship. The relationship sits somewhat precariously between siblings, pet/owner, and lovers. I was beginning to find them a tad uncomfortable with one of the characters commenting on it, so I suppose that it's a feature, not a bug.
My only other complaint, such as it is, is an obsession with smell. Lune is constantly worried that she stinks, and Liam sniffs her repeatedly. Again, I found the smell thing a tad awkward, but it is harmless compared to many fetishes.
If you've become jaded by overpowered reincarnated children and look for wholesome healing of everything and everyone possible, yes, this is a very cute, dare I say, fluffy story. There is never any doubt that Lune and her furry ears and tail will bring joy to the March of Renard and all the fox spirits that ever were.
