Hi folks,

I saw an animated series about 18 years ago and would like to watch it again. However I cannot remember the name of the show and have been searching for years and have not had much success. Can anybody help? Rolling Eyes

Here is what I remember...

Main character has an arm that "comes off" and is a "laser gun"
Main character has a robot sidekick
Main character has a space ship and travels around the galaxy.

Would appreciate any help.

Can you describe the main character's features at all, like hair color or eye color?

Were there any "bad guys" you can remember?

What language was it dubbed in?

The closest thing I can think of is Galaxy Rangers, though I know it's not the one you're thinking of. That was a pretty sweet show, though.

I can think of an american cartoon, but not an anime. I hope this tip helps. (Maybe it's an American animated show confused with anime).

The main character was a "lovable rogue" type - He was blond, and somewhat muscular.

His arm kind of came off at the elbow to show his laser "cannon".

I am pretty sure it was not an american cartoon even though it has been ages since I saw it. The show had occasional partial nudity and enough violence that I can be pretty sure it was anime.

Unfortunately I cannot remember the "bad guys".

There was one episode where our hero was pinned down by bad guys and we find that he can "bend" the laser from his cannon to kill enemies hiding behind things.

Thank you.

I was thinking Cobra as well. Its not bad, and better than alot of the tv anime of that time. The main character was actually the inspiration behind Devil May Cry.

YES !!!!!!

I remember it now - COBRA it is... I do not remember the exact name becuase I saw the French dubbed version of the show when I used to live in Africa. But "Cobra" does ring a loud bell.

Now, I have to try to find it on tape or dvd somewhere...

THANKS a bunch all of you ...

Rock star Matthew Sweet (sp?) did an MTV music video which was comprised of the Space Cobra movie back around 1990.

Ei, I checked out one of my dad's list of favorite animes (he's one of a kind anime fanatic!) anyway I thought of replying to you last Sept2 but seeing that you already guessed the answer i just wanted to tell you that Agent Cobra was one of my dad's favorite although i really didn't appreciate it as well as my brother!!!
My dad said it was a nice (ver nice) anime!!!
Come to think of it, I watch that too when i was still young, i wish i am still, and i know it is a a lot better than the anime during those times but i guessed time differs, right, so please don't be offended, my dad didn't talked to me when i said i didn't appreciate the show... It's just my opinion anyway
