Is it just me, or has anyone noticed that Kagome looks nothing like Kikyo, although she is a reincarnation of her? I mean seriously, they look nothing alike in my opinion. Inuyasha still rocks, but that's just something I've always thought about since viewing Inuyasha.

I'm not sure why you think they should look alike. The basic belief of reincarnation is that the soul moves to another body after the current body dies. Depending on what religion you are dealing with, reincarnation is not limited to human form, but just about any other living creature. It's not simply you die and then are born again looking exactly the same.

Yes you may be right, but in one of the episodes, the demon that brought Kikyo back(Orasuwei) was like, "The resemblance is remarkable." And in my mind I was thinking that every character in Inuyasha insists that they both look alike. Since Kagome basically has all the powers that Kikyo has and loves Inuyasha like Kikyo, then they might as well have had the same appearance.

Yeah, I don't think they look all that similar either. I think it's because of the clothes (obviouly) and the voice actresses. Kikyo has a deeper voice than Kagome who has a higher voice.

I thought it was a general rule that all of Takahashi's characters are completely indiscernable from each other except by hairstyle and clothing.

Hm.. aside from the hair and the look in their eyes (which there is a reason for), they look pretty similar to me.
