Adult Swim, MAKE IT LONGER!! |
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ! ! ! !
15 minutes of Robot Chicken is 15 minutes too long!
RC is nothing but crap, one stinking festering pile of crap!
If AS knows what's good for them, they'll cancel RC and put something better. |
15 Minutes is too quick for the humor.

I refuse to acknowledge Kids 2-11. No buying power UNLESS they whine, moan, groan and katech to parents. Also, 18-34 is more likely to purchase DVDs (1-2 seasons for $29.99, anyone).

How about backing that up with a couple of reasons? If you're going to hurl criticism around, you'd might as well make yourself credible and at least provide a foundation for your reasoning, shouldn't you?
Anyway, one of the things about Robot Chicken that impresses me the most is the fact that not only is it cleverly written, it's beautifully animated. I've done stop-motion myself, and it's HARD. The dancing Voltron sequence amazed me beyond words. It's... ah! So good! Great animation! (So impressed am I that my grammar has been reduced to two-word sentences... )

Indeed, the use of the anniversary Optimus Prime (or should I say Convoy, it was the Japanese version) figure at the end of the first episodes Transformers bit really blew me away. That thing is extremely clunky, very heavy, they did a great job getting it to hold poses (with some string and clay to help it out I'm sure).
I think my only complaint is that they're sculpting is extremely rough, but it serves their purpose.
Oh, and funny thing about that Tom Root comment I made in an earlier post, he no longer does the letters for Anime Insider either, Zac is now pulling Answerman duty once again and doing the AI letters.

| Quote: | | The other segments were much better, but they still tend to run a little too long. I mean, okay, Voltron can breakdance. That's funny, but not for five minutes. |
I agree, some of the segments were slightly long. But keep in mind that the entire Voltron segment was only about 2.5 minutes long (I watched my clock). Still, when a show is only 10-11 minutes in length, I can see why they seemed so.

I thought they were done very well too. I've see many other stop-motion shows and sequences before, and this is one of the best. And for those who want it longer, just try moving those characters frame by frame and see how you like it.

I noticed that too! I was so happy to read the letter responses in my new issue of AI; it was just like reading the Answerman column in the old days. I can't remember the last time I read anything that made me giggle out loud quite so hard. He's doing a great job!

Sorry, the numbers don't lie. 732,000 viewers 18-34 (THE GOD DEMOGRAPHIC) have to disagree with you. |
Sheep. |
Baaa. Baaa.
It was pretty funny if you ask me. It's like those comedies you don't mind watching, but you don't lose sleep over should you miss them, either. If I'm there, I'll watch it; if I'm not, I won't. Simple as that.

They'll also tell you that 25-54 is the most profitable radio demographic.

Wow, no one has mentioned last night's ep. But I digress.
Isn't it just SLIGHTY funny that a AMERICAN show is getting this much discussion in a Japanese anime board/forum. Yeah, I know a lot of talk involves the skits pertaining to Japanese shows but I just wanted to throw that out there.
The Wacky Races/Cannonball Run skit was excellent. The thing with the kid and monkey trying to get in the trunk of Speed Racer's car and seeing the dead body...great. Did anyone notice the vehicle from Jayce and thr Wheeled Warriors? I was like DAMN, they going old-school on me!

I was going to, but I was too tired to start one. (Plus I had a hangover after celebrating Ohio State's upset win over #1 Illinois. )

The Wacky Races skit was the best Robot Chicken skit to date. I especially liked the scenes where Enos of "The Dukes of Hazzard" (I think that's his name - it's been a long time since I last watched the Dukes) unknowingly tricked the Duke boys into driving off a cliff, and also when the CHiPs cops were "mooning" Batman and Robin (double points for using the campy Adam West/Burt Ward versions). Other than that, there wasn't anything spectacular about last night's episode.

I liket he whole batman cop thing too. I also like the Arc skit. The animals were like you left early without the others on purpose. And Noah responded with, "Of course, God hates all freaks." I was laughing so hard. Then the mermaids came and the dragon bit off the womens head and told the man to a-sexually reproduce. Oh man, funny stuff. I also like how to get in the race they had to pay all that cash, like the one guy opened that briefcase full of money, but all the winner got was a gift basket from Cobey steaks(however it is spelled) and a like $50 gift card for bestbuy.

Actually, they parodied Live w/ Regis and Kelly where one of the prizes they give out is a GC for Omaha Steaks.
