Anime titles gone too far?

I'm not sure if I'm the only one that feels this way but has anybody noticed how much the titles of certain anime series' episodes gives away the episode too much. My perfect example is Naruto, the titles of some episodes in Naruto are ridiculously revealing, they basically give away the ending, either they should put the title in a spoiler spoiler[because everyone at ANN is obsessed with spoilers] or just not have episode names but instead just numbers. Another one is Haibane-Renmei, okay, maybe not REVEALING but too long!

But my main point is Naruto, I mean today I watched episode 46 today and the titles is (I'll put this in a spoiler because it gave away the whole ending to me spoiler[Hinata Blushes! The Crowd Opens Their Mouths Wide, Naruto's Trump Card]. Does anybody else have any other series where the title gives HEAPS away or generally agree or disagree with me?

Good topic, You should try watching Samauri Shamploo, there are no next episode prievews, and the titals are written so oddley that there hard to read, Its great.

OK, here’s the thing. The Japanese prefer to know the major plot points ahead of time so they can enjoy the episode more the first time they view it. This is similar to the French phenomenon where many French moviegoers watch the end of the film before the beginning so they can adequately take in and analyze the film without being concerned or excited about the ending. They already know what happens, so they can concentrate on the depth of the entire film. The Japanese are much the same way; witness some of the episode titles for Rurouni Kenshin. “The Sakaba sword breaks! Kenshin’s in trouble!”. Obviously this gives away a major plot point in the upcoming episode, but the concept of ‘spoilers’ doesn’t really exist in Japan and France, at least for the majority of film consumers. They already know Kenshin’s sword breaks, so they can concentrate on what happens in the rest of the episode, and pay attention to the various and sundry subtleties. It’s a different culture with different customs.
