I just got through reading the first volume of Visitor by Yee-Jung No and really enjoyed it. I have to admit that I was a little put off by the art at first. The characters seemed more enlongated, very thin, with long necks and oversized heads and ears out of proportion, but not in a comedic way. I was just wondering if this is a particular style that evolved over time and can it be seen in other artist's work. Did it originate with a specific artist? Or is it a Korean style? Or shojo? If you haven't read this book yet, you should check it out. It kinda walks the line between shojo and horror/mystery. Very well written.

I see that in the artwork of Model, by So-Young Lee. The necks are long, and the bodies are elongated. I think the art is really gorgeous though, but then again I like the gothic style (Tarot Cafe, Alichino) in general. I may just be a Korean style, as I haven't seen it anywhere else.
