He was making a joke. Sense of humor is sometimes necessary.

There's the .hack//A.I Buster and the .hack//Sign novels that should be out. There was also a book about J-Rock that I saw at my Waldenbooks but it doesn't relate to any anime out there.

There are a lot coming out, I think. A few others that haven't been mentioned are CLAMP School Paranormal Investigators and Socrates in Love, neither of which I have read. (Although I want to read both.) I think TOKYOPOP also has Gravitation and Slayers.

PS - .hack//AI buster is a really good novel. I highly recommend it for .hack fans.

Onegai Teacher and Onegai Twins were both novelized by author Go Zappa. Twins was released in two parts. All three books are very funny and rather ecchi. They're available at Amazon for about manga price.

Yeah, as has been said, a fair number of novels based off manga/anime are now coming out. I know Tokyopop has one for Gravitation and a few others I believe.

Well, if you want a real blast from the past you could try finding Robotech novels.

I believe some fans have made translations of Maria-sama ga Miteru novels.

Additionally, if you don't mind novels that have been turned into anime and/or manga then you could try Scrapped Princess (mentioned by the previous poster) and Battle Royale.

Gundam, Mobile Suit: Awakening, Escalation, Confrontation is a novel written my Yoshiyuki Tomino which is just a retelling of the original series in a novel form or something like that. I still want to read and buy it when I have the chance.

Have the newer versions. Robotech decided to have the novels of the first saga reprinted. Which I have them. But I more interested in novels that were actually written in Japan then translated. The Robotech novels were made in America and were written by Jack McKinney but hey thanks for the suggestion, I appreciate it, I am hoping they reprint the next two generations or maybe like you said I'll have to go digging for them but who knows...I'll probably wait it out for a while if they don't decide by that time period I'll start digging.

They have been reprinted about one year ago IIRC: I found mine at Amazon, there may still be some available

A lot of anime/manga are made into novels. I know the Tenchi Muyo (OAV) series has at least 3 novels that really go into depth about certain characters and provides a very rich background. I know that some fans have translated it so you could try searching around.
