So that's at (at least) a gross profit of $695,000 a month. Not bad for a little company that streams videos on the internet.

True, but some people are signed up for the all access pass, which is $12 a month. I suppose we'll never know exactly what there getting unless they tell us.

You also have to consider the discounts for yearly or seasonal recurring plans, I doubt everyone pays month to month. Is $59.95/yr. But this is really being nitpicking.

Really, I just hope they continue to keep growing. Simulcasts and Crunchyroll are a good thing for the anime industry as a whole.

I think you mean "Revenue" or "Gross Sales". Any profit would occur after they would subtract their costs for licensing content and any overhead (payroll, server costs, advertising, development, etc.) from their total revenue. We still don't know any numbers on those.

I am a happy subscriber of Crunchyroll for over a year now. I was especially when they released an app for Smart TV. Pretty awesome being able to watch things like Sword Art Online on my big screen TV. Very Happy

I can't recall who said it at CR, but they stated their $6.95 monthly plan is the most popular. I agree not everyone does the per month option, but even at its minimum, that's $6 million a year just from subscribers.

Throw in the ad revenue, and it's pretty clear streaming is very profitable for the anime industry, who can also rack up other sites in addition to CR, such as Hulu and Netflix.

Now, if only the industry would stop with its idiotic licensing limitations. Once a series is online, it should stay there forever.

Just signed up due to the SMART TV app they released.
Now if they can get 720p/1080p options for that, they can keep taking my money!

I subscribed because of it being on Playstation, so going to the 360 would be a smart move I think.

And I am one of them on the anime only platform. I believe its about 6 a month...not bad at all.

CR is by far my favorite of the various streaming sites (I've tried Funi, Nico Nico, and The Anime Network's sites).

They have high quality video, great selection every season, and a good app for my iPOD. It's definitely worth the cost to me.
