Hey everyone, i just finished watching this awesome show in live action and i really loved it. The ending was kinda iffy for me but overall it was a great show. I recommend this title to anyone that loves the comedy/romance type. sooo I was wondering if there are any similar titles like this? Could anyone recommend me to some? I'd really appreciate it! thanks!

High school drama is probably the most typical kind of Asian drama you'll see. Most Korean dramas start off with high school and mainly take place in post-college settings though. A little searching around will find you too many. If you need a specific reference, GTO live action is another high school related drama with comedy, which is very similar to Hana Yori Dango live action in terms of setting. If you're not so picky about the specific setting of Hana Yori Dango live action, I suggest you check out titles such as Densha Otoko, Ace wo nerae, Attack No.1, Gokusen, and Friends 2002. They're all drama-related with lots of comedy in between. If you're into some simple magic/mystery with lots of humor, try the Trick series.
I highly recommend Friends 2002 if you want to learn more about both Korean and Japanese culture. It's a 4 episode (an hour each) drama directed by a Korean and Japanese director and with Korean and Japanese actors. A lot of cliche Korean and Japanese drama elements and techniques.

Isn't that the one with Inoue Mao in it? Cause I know she went to my school and one of my buddies was in the same class as her.

I highly reccomend Densha Otoko, or The Train Man. It's so adorably sweet and funny it's like a Japanese version of Napoleon Dynamite. I saw it at an anime con, and at the begining of the movie where he's shoving cake in his mouth and crying insanely everyone in the video room was cracking up, but when that scene is shown again at the end a lot of people were in tears, myself included.

Really? Densha Otoko is that good? i actually have it downloaded right now but i took a quick peek through parts of the first episode and it didn't look very appealing. but since you guys recommend it, ill give it a shot. Also thanks for the recommendations, if there are any more, dont be shy and post!

I just saw Densha Otoko and i thought it was really weird. we have a beautiful girl falling for a geek thats in love with anime and cant talk without stuttering and it seems like he's crying a lot of the time. i think thats just a little silly.

If you can get your hands on it (I haven't been able to so far), there's the Taiwanese show Meteor Garden which is also based off the Hana Yori Dango manga (and it's success was one of the reasons the Japanese version was made), though it's a bit longer.
Also good from Taiwan is the adaptation of the manga Mars, which in most places actually does a better job handling the story than the manga does, because it fixes some flaws in the original storytelling.

It's not silly, you're simply unable to relate to it. The American idea of a "loser" is just completely different from the Japanese "loser". The guy from Densha Otoko is extremely exagerrated compared to the actual person (note: it's based on a true story) but the concept of what a "loser" is to the Japanese is still there. Just one more example of cultural differences.
