This is the thread where people can thank whoever they think contributes to their enjoyment of ANN. You can give props to the mods, the encyclopedia staff, the columnists, the journalists, the editors, and even average everyday contributors just like you and me. You can show mild appreciation or go into full-on suck-up mode for all I care, but please don't try to bash anybody in this particular thread.
I'm going to get the ball rolling by giving massive props to Tempest and Tony for their unwavering even-handedness; your compassion and understanding toward virtually all contributors hasn't gone unnoticed. I also really enjoy reading abunai's various cut-ups and cut-downs and I can't tell you how many times I've wanted to thank Cloe for giving us thoughtful and quirky suggestions that strayed well off the beaten path. I'd also like to thank all the various folks who work tirelessly behind the scenes taking care of issues and resolving problems that I never even knew existed.
So, who do you think deserves some extra respect and/or mad props? Add your comments here and give a shout-out to whoever you think has earned a place on ANN's Honor Roll.

dormcat, Abunai, and Dan42 get my vote for tackling the bastard child known as the encyclopedia. That's one of the foundations of ANN as I see it and their constant work and diligence on it is really something. Honorable mention to PantsGoblin for joining the encyclo crew. Just answer me this, when do you guys sleep? Do you simply hook an IV of coffee into your arms?

I'd like to thank Wolverine Princess for keeping me entertained all these months and also for falling for one of my pranks and making me feel better about myself. And the avatar too, I'll be keeping this awhile.

I adore Zac Bertschy's Answerman column. His hilarious sence of sarcastic humor is priceless, and I am always very excited when I see a new installment of Answerman.
Props to Zac, that column was the reason I joined ANN in the first place.

Oh! Great idea!
I think I'd like to start out by thanking the entire ANN staff for giving me such a wonderful place to learn more about anime and manga and for helping me learn so much more about it. And for what I will learn from ANN in the Future.
Thanks to Zalis116, frentymon, Pants Goblin and fighterholic for giving me such great suggestions for new anime to watch.
Thanks to Wolverine Princess and Iwatchtoomuchanime for the laughs.
Thanks to Steventheeunuch, Abuni, Mylene and many, many others for their thoughtful posts, dissertations and discussions of various anime, topic, terms and themes.
Basically, thank you to almost everyone who is a member of the ANN community for increasing my enjoyment of my second favorite, yet most expensive, hobby. (Reading is my #1 hobby.)
**bowing** Thank you for taking such good care of me! And I will strive to do my best to help everyone in the future.

Let's not forget the dissentors, cynics, and the few who don't follow the group, such as 10yen and adonais (Plus more I have misremembered). You know the lonely voice makes you think more than an entire pack of agreement. Can't neglect to mention that fighterholic always has something nice to say. I like the fact that LydiaDianne is always level headed, that's my impression at least.
Ah, this aggravates my neurosis. Lol, I'll leave someone out and worry that his feelings are hurt. [/b]

Thank you for the compliment! And I don't always think I'm that way, so, indeed, thank you!

Exactly! So it's a good thing that ANN allows us an unlimited number of posts, isn't it!
I'm adding bluepita to my list of "thank yous" for her excellent posts and for reminding me of:

Yes, we mustn't forget the people who have made us scream, pull our hair in frustration but most of all, who have made us THINK along different lines. Thank you.

I forgot one:
Thanks to PantsGoblin for letting me take over the Character Tournament! I've been getting a little lazy lately but I still love doing it and it's been really fun thus far.

I'm kind of new here, so I'm going to go ahead and shout out to the entire staff in general. This site is big, and as stated in the "Moderator." thread I have the utmost respect for all of your hard work.
Though as for individual respects... TonyK's devotion to clearing out the stupid is unwavering, and Dan42, along with the rest of the encyclopedia staff, shine in their maintenance of that very useful tool. Tempest gets a mention, of course, for the same reasons stated before.
I think I ought to give my respects to everyone here in some degree, whether it be for one of the staff's hard work or a user like undeadben or frentymon for his or her help in various ways. Even users like narutofan... Nah, I'll just say there are some more really funny users that always seem to give me something to laugh at.
Really, though. It seems most everyone contributes in some way or another to the well-being and usefulness of this website, and I give my respects to all of you for your time and effort.

I read through the entire Sticky: 10 favorite and 5 least favorite anime? and since then Nagisa has got to be my favorite person on ANN. Not only for his hard work but also his consistency, patience (I would be in a straight jacket right now if I had Nagi's job) and encouragement to users who don't post according to the rules. I get the impression from Nagisa's posts that he actually wants to read what people have to say even if they post an 'illegal' list. Out of all the members and mods on ANN, I'd like to be corrected by Nagisa the most! [/fanclub]
Also I reckon Amasa is really cool. He's always so charming and very good looking.
namelissis, psycho101, TestamentSaki and 10yen are all members who I regard highly. Their posts are always the most interesting and they have a lot of character. I think it is a skill to be able to convey personality over a message board without over-using emoticons (like I do). I hope their posts remain as good as always.

This is a wonderful idea, and it's nice to feel appreciated, shout out to all who love me
I'd like to shout to members of the administration of this site, Chris (tempest) and Zac for doing a wonderful job of maintaining the site, since this is what they're eating off of [/sarcastically speaking]. Our five mods, for their never ending devotion of maintaining peace and prosperity in our forums, but I would like to give a shout out to Tony K. for being able to hold some great conversation not so much directly in the forums, keeping me updated and making sure that I'm not confused to why my posts disappear.
There are so many regular posters out there that I have had fun with during my stay here at ANN. Where to start, I'd have to say kudos to PantsGoblin for organizing our tournaments, and frentymon for taking over and bringing in new thread systems or voting systems that not a lot of us could ever think of. I don't know how you do it or have the time for it, but you rock. psycho 101, a cool guy and fun coversation via pm, Testament Saki for building my shrine , and bluepita, hard working and always bringing up some interesting points.
To my ladies in the manga forum, who found Fruits Basket and are as crazy about it as me, aya_honda, LydiaDianne, and cerulean88 (come back to us soon!!)

Thank you for creating this thread (honestly, as much as me and you don't get along sometimes you do come up with interesting threads). I can think of some long overdue thanks I've needed to give out...
First person I need to give thanks to here is dormcat. He was actually the reason I joined ANN in the first place, because I liked his personality and reviews on his My Anime. If it wasn't for him, I also wouldn't have been able to meet my favorite (one of two actually ) seiyuu (Ryoko Shintani). I am extremely grateful to him for that as well as other things.
Wolverine Princess. Well, not getting into any details here, but you know what I think about you.
Chris as well as the rest of the ANN staff for maintaining this website. It has honestly provided me so much entertainment and great times over the past few years. I hope to enjoy continuing to post here and working on the encyclopedia for years to come.
Frentymon for doing such a great job at taking over the tournament. I would work more on it, but I honestly don't have as much time to do it as I used to...
And for everybody who has participated in the tournament so far. We're getting more voters than last year's tournament, so I think we're definitely improving at doing this... Or it could just be that ANN is getting more forum members. I don't know. Either way, I'm pleased.

Noy here! I just wanted to thank everyone and show courtesy to those who take the time to post well thought of statements and opinions, and of course, unfashionable criticism; which makes the overall atmosphere here at ANN even more the merrier. With that aside, I would also like to take the time to thank ANN staff for providing up-to-date news regarding the anime industry, anime, and also providing us viewers some nitty-gritty columns for our enjoyment. Also a shout-out to Zac for his "Hey Answerman!" column; which I find myself looking forward to here and there, since it really had its inept moments when it came down to "FLAKE OF THE WEEK!" All in all, thank you ANN for your wonderful service.
Off-topic: Also Zac, if you don't mind sharing, who exactly is Ms. Answerman?

A few people have thanked me for the Encyclopedia, but really I don't take part so much in the dirty-grimy of the maintenance. Adding info is one thing, but taking care of error reports and adding new titles requires a lot of double-checking work; it is EXTREMELY labor-intensive and it doesn't even show up in the contributors list. So I want to express my everlasting undying gratitude to all the encyc staff, in particular abunai and areaseven, and particularly in particular dormcat who has been a pillar of the Encyclopedia in terms of quality, quantity and reliability; ever-present and taking on the hardest work when no one will.
The Encyclopedia could not exist without you guys.
